The city can now boast of another ground with all cricketing facilities. Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association (VDCA) has developed cricket ground in the land given by Coromandel International. The ground will be utilised for conducting coaching camps and matches for junior age groups throughout the year by the VDCA. The ground was also equipped with 3 practice nets.
MP K.Haribabu, who gave ₹10.0 lakh from MPLADS for the development of the cricket academy, was very much impressed with facilities developed at the ground. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, he said he was ready to give matching grant for further development of the ground if Coromondel releases grants.
MLA and honorary president of VDCA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju, MLA PGVR Naidu, MD Coromandel International Sameer Goel, vice -president, unit head Coromandal International M Kumareshan, senior GM(HR) Coromandel International K Ranga Kumar, VDCA general secretary K.Pardhasarathi, vice-presidents D.S. Varma, S.S.R.K.Prasad, D Sanjeev, MS Kumar, S. Ravi Shankar, and SG Prasad, and joint secretaries JKM Raju and GT Prasad and other members of VDCA attended the inaugural function.
Parents and budding cricketers both boys and girls in large numbers were present.
