JAISALMER: Touts running rackets in making fake passports and visas with the help of Pak intelligence agency ISI are active in getting suspicious people enter India through border posts at Atari in Amritsar and Munabao in Jaisalmer, intelligence sources have said. Due to carelessness in document verifications at the border points, large number of suspicious Pak citizens are said to be entering India.
The case of Hassam Khan, an Indian who stayed in Pakistan for 27 years before returning to India six month ago on a fake passport prepared in the name of one Pakistani Gulam Mustafa s/o Peer Baks resident of Ghotaki, Pakistan, has once again highlighted the thriving racket of fake passports and visas.
Khan is to be interrogated further to nab the touts preparing fake passports and visas. Jaisalmer SP Gaurav Yadav said a team was being sent to Atari for further investigation of Khan. Yadav said it would be investigated if Khan took Pak citizenship by the name of Gulam Mustafa. The police are suspicious about Khan staying for 27 long years in Pakistan without being caught.
According to reliable sources, many touts providing fake passports to suspicious Pak Hindus/Muslims coming on pilgrimages in India were active in Sindh area of Pakistan.
In August 2016, one Pak Hindu spy Nandu Maharaj was caught in prohibited area of Jaisalmer. During interroagation at Jaipur he revealed about touts active in Pakistan. It is believed that a tout in Hatango town of Sindh state took huge amount money from Hassam Khan for providing him a fake passport.
In Jaisalmer district large number of Pak brides is residing in rural areas without legal permissions. Indian women who go to Pakistan on VTD (Valid Travel documents) get married there and on their passport/visa Pakistani women are coming to India for marriage here, said intelligence soures.
