AGRA: The station manager for Mathura junction was suspended this week after a raging bull charged onto a platform and reportedly got frightfully close to local MP Hema Malini in his presence.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, when Malini, accompanied by an architect, visited the station for an inspection and a brainstorming session on infrastructure upgrade and making the junction more tourist-friendly.
Eyewitnesses described the episode as a narrow escape for the MP, as the bull "suddenly came quite close to her".
While station manager K L Meena was suspended, a probe has also been ordered into alleged negligence by Malini's security team. Divisional commercial manager Sanchit Tyagi told TOI, "With the help of an RPF team, the bull was taken off the premises. No injury was reported... A plan is being worked out... to curb the menace of stray animals at the junction."
