Call for joint fight against corruption

Principal Secretary, Home and Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement A.R. Anuradha on Thursday asked the employees of various organisations to join the fight against corruption.

She was speaking at a programme organised in connection with Vigilance Awareness Week by the Hindustan Shipyard Limited.

She said it was common citizen who suffered the ill affects of corruption. Public money was being siphoned off by unscrupulous elements, she said adding corruption gave serious dent to various developmental programmes launched by the government and ensured that the benefits never reached the target group.

“It is the duty of all responsible citizens to oppose corrupt practices in largest public interest,” she said.

HSL Chairman and Managing Director Rear Admiral L.V. Sarat Babu and Chief Vigilance Officer P.J. Vijayakar spoke.

HSL earlier administered vigilance pledge among employees.
