Literary giants to be roped in for Kannada meet

MYSURU: THE state government, which managed to attract lakhs of tourists for Dasara, is now getting ready to host All India Kannada Literary Meet in the cultural capital. Though Kannada Sahitya Parishat plays a vital role in hosting Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelan, the government will involve its people to make the meet a successful one. Announcing this at a review meeting here on Thursday, District Minister H C Mahadevappa said preparations will be made in the best possible way by involving veteran writers and literary personalities.

He said the literary meet should enlighten people on cultural values to spread fragrance of Kannada. Mahadevappa, sharing his experience in organising Kannada Sahithya Sammelans in Madikeri and Shravanabelagola some years ago, said the officials should learn from past mistakes and ensure that there are no lapses in the three-day meet to be held from November 24.
