Reacting to reports that Bajwa had offered to resign from the in a communication, sent three months back, to Vice President Rahul Gandhi, he told media here: "I have no idea what grudge Bajwa was nurturing. There have been no problems between the state and any of the party leaders or MLAs. I am surprised at Bajwa's inexplicable behaviour.

"The is an open house with all members welcome to share any grievances or to give any feedback. However, it is difficult to guess what Bajwa had in mind and what had prompted him to rush to the high command."

Bajwa, as per media reports, had written a letter to Rahul Gandhi saying that the in Punjab, which assumed office in March this year, had failed to initiate action against top Shiromani Akali Dal leaders, including its President and former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, his brother-in-law and former Minister Majithia, ex-minister Tota Singh and others.

Amarinder also rejected the Aam Aadmi Party's allegation of vendetta behind the court proceedings against party leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira, who is the Leader of Opposition in the assembly.

He said that the state had no role to play in the matter and the summons issued to Khaira in a drugs case was a court decision.
