Chinese national held for entering IGI using cancelled ticket

A Chinese national has been apprehended by the for allegedly entering the airport using a cancelled ticket to see off his friend.

C Yia was held around 11:30 pm yesterday when a personnel found him roaming around in a suspicious manner inside the terminal-3 (T3) building of the International Airport (IGIA), a senior official involved in the airport security said.


Yia told the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel that he had entered the terminal to see off his friend, who was travelling to a Chinese location, the official said.

The Chinese national told the that he used a cancelled ticket to enter the airport. He was then handed over to the police, the official said.

Entering airport terminal without a valid ticket is illegal according to Indian aviation rules.
