In a graphic on the ‘World’ page (Nov. 3, 2017, some editions) titled “A century since Balfour” the date of the Balfour Declaration was erroneously given as Nov. 2, 2017. It should have been Nov. 2, 1917.
One more correction in the report, “Fewer TB deaths in India: WHO” (Oct. 31, 2017): The second paragraph — which said, with 1.7 million new cases in 2016, India continued to be the largest contributor to the global burden with up to a quarter of the 6.3 million new cases of TB (up from 6.1 million in 2015) — should be recast to read: “With 2.79 million new cases in 2016, India continued to be the largest contributor to the global burden with up to a quarter of the 10.1 million new cases of TB.
In “Karnataka in command” (Sport, some editions, Nov. 3, 2017), there was an erroneous reference to Karun Nair’s triple hundred on Test debut. Actually, he hit that triple century in his third Test at Chennai.
