German woman Friederike Irina Bruning, who runs a cowshed here with around 1,200 cattle, is concerned about their wellbeing as authorities have denied to extend her tourist visa "owing to some changes in the rules".
The 59-year-old Bruning, who goes by the name of Sudevi Mataji, provides food and medicine to cows at her 3,300 sq yard gaushala -- Surbhai Gauseva Niketan.
Bruning, who had come to India from Berlin in 1978 on a tourist visa, is now worried about the fate of the cattle.
"My tourist visa was extended several times... Now, the authorities are denying to extend it due to some changes in the rules. What would happen to my cows," asked Bruning.
"I do not want to abandon the cows and the 100 workers who take care of them," she said.
Sixty per cent of the 1,200 cattle at the cowshed are either injured or suffering from some chronic disease, she said.
