Microsoft employee downloads Google Chrome as its own browser Edge crashes amid presentation
The presentation which described how potential Azure customers could migrate their applications, data, and workloads to the Microsoft Azure Cloud, the employee had to stop midway as the Edge browser failed to run Azure cloud multiple times
Not long ago, Internet Explorer, the browser which came bundled with Windows operating systems before Windows 10, lagged behind its peers by a mile. With Windows 10, the software giant introduced a much improved “faster, safer” browser—Microsoft Edge.
Nevertheless, a Microsoft employee had to face an embarrassing situation while delivering a presentation when the browser kept crashing. In the end, the employee had to download Google Chrome browser to continue with the presentation.
The presentation which described how potential Azure customers could migrate their applications, data, and workloads to the Microsoft Azure Cloud, the employee had to stop midway as the Edge browser failed to run Azure cloud multiple times. Initially, he tried but was forced to download Chrome browser (at 37-minute mark).
The employee, however, was very graceful in handling the situation and kept cracking jokes while he was downloading the Chrome browser. He also joined the audience, laughing with them, when he said, “I am gonna go and install chrome,” while firing up a Cortona search query.
While installing, when Chrome website popped up a notification asking if he wishes to make Google Chrome better by automatically sending crash reports and usage statistics, he said unchecking the option, “…and, we are not going to help make Google better.”
He also tried to explain the situation and remarked, “The Edge on these machines are locked down a little bit, and there are some things that just don’t work a little.”
