They demand implementation of Koshiyari panel report

One lakh members of Employees Pension Scheme-95 will go in a rally to Parliament on December 7 in support of their demands, mainly on increasing the meagre pension and providing ESI medical facility.

All-India EPS-95 Pensioners Sangharsh Samiti national convener Commander Ashok Raut said here on Thursday 60 lakh retired employees covered under the scheme were getting pension between ₹ 200 and ₹1500 and 28 lakh less than ₹1000.

“How could two people live on such a meagre pension when the minimum pension itself was ₹1000,” he said at a press conference.

Commander Raut said the Supreme Court ruled that full pension on actual salary with DA be given and an order was issued on March 23, 2017 on it. However, a subsequent order on May 31 negated it, he alleged and wanted it to be withdrawn so as to benefit all the employees.

He demanded that since it had been four years since the Koshiyari Committee made a recommendation of a minimum pension of ₹ 3000 plus DA, minimum pension should be fixed at ₹7500 plus DA and interim relief of ₹5000 and DA should be paid.

Perhaps for the first time people who were above 60 years of age and much older would be participating in the Delhi rally, Commander Raut said.

Coordinator for Andhra Pradesh C.S. Prasada Reddy, national advisor P.N. Patil, Chief National Coordinator Veerendra Singh, S. Satyanarayana and Maturi Srinivasa Rao were among those present.
