GURUGRAM: A resident of Kendriya Vihar in Sector 56 has moved to police, alleging he was duped of Rs 6.4 lakh after being promised a job by two online job portals. Police have lodged a case.
On September 9, 2015, Aggarwal got an e-mail from clickjobs.com asking for his resume. A person named Dolly called him up and asked him to deposit Rs 2000, which he did on August 19, 2015. Subsequently, he was asked to deposit Rs 4,500 and Rs 5,850, to which he complied.
Aggarwal was again asked to deposit an "initial tax" of Rs 11,000 to another website, jobspeed.com, which the former website official identified as a sister company.
Subsequently, he made payments of Rs 11,000 on May 28, 2015, and Rs 23,000, Rs 29,250 and Rs 50,000 on June 13, 2016. Aggarwal told police that he kept making subsequent payments of similar amounts after this as well.
After making fresh payments in August, Aggarwal suspected foul play. So he tried calling them but without any success. Later he spoke to payment gateway CC Avenues, where he was told that the email ID from where he got the refund email was fake. After this Aggarwal approached police. The cyber-crime unit verified his complaints and an FIR was registered at the Sector 56 police station on Wednesday.
