NEW DELHI: The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.37 per cent down at 3,932 around 10:55 am (IST), with shares of Hindalco Industries (down 2.58 per cent), Jindal Steel & Power (down 1.40 per cent) and Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (down 1.04 per cent) as the top losers of the index.

Vedanta (down 0.57 per cent), Tata Steel (down 0.38 per cent), JSW Steel (down 0.21 per cent) and APL Apollo Tubes (down 0.16 per cent) were also trading in the red.

However, shares of Hindustan Copper zoomed nearly 12 per cent in the index. MOIL (up 4.49 per cent), Jindal Stainless (Hisar) (up 2.36 per cent), NMDC (up 1.75 per cent), NALCO (up 0.85 per cent), Hindustan Zinc (up 0.43 per cent) and Coal India (up 0.38 per cent) were also trading up.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 4 points up at 10,444, while the BSE Sensex was 33 points up at 33,633.

Among the 51 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 25 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Aurobindo Pharma, Sun Pharma, Dr Reddy's Labs, Lupin, GAIL and ICICI Bank were among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

However, Tech Mahindra, Hindalco Industries, Tata Motors, Zee Entertainment, Mahindra & Mahindra and Axis Bank were among the top losers around that time.
