BHUBANESWAR: Two days after a city-based journalist was thrashed by a traffic personnel near Lower PMG for overstepping the zebra lines, a man on Wednesday lodged a complaint at Mancheswar police station alleging that two constables misbehaved with him and his wife near a traffic post in Hanspal.
Sudarshan Moharana (32) of Jagatpur alleged that a car hit his four-wheeler near Hanspal while he was going towards Cuttack from Pipili. While he was discussing the matter with the man, who rammed his car into his vehicle, two traffic personnel stepped in and took their driving licence. Soon two associates of the owner of the other car came to the spot and intimidated him, he added.

The complainant also alleged that a few minutes later, the traffic personnel handed over the licence to the man and allowed him to leave without his knowledge. Then, the traffic personnel asked him to collect his driving licence. However, the traffic cop misbehaved with the couple after they enquired whereabouts of the owner of the other car, he said.

Moharana alleged that the traffic constables threatened him and his wife by asking them to collect the driving licence from the spot or else they will be dragged to a police station. “My six-month-old child was sitting on my wife’s lap and he fell down after the car collided with my four-wheeler. My wife also sustained injuries in the accident. I escaped unhurt, as I had put on the seat belt,” Moharana said. Mancheswar police said they are investigating into the matter.
