Four miscreants including a woman, who had looted jewellery and cash from a residential complex in Kagalnagar here on Tuesday, were arrested today, a senior police officer said.
The loot case has been cracked within two days of the incident with the arrest of Sagar Soni and his wife Muskan Singh (residents of Seraikela-Kharswan district, Gaurang Senapati and a driver Arun Sahis, both residents of Hirbandh police station of Bakura district of West Bengal, said Senior Superintendent of Police, Anoop T Mathew said.
Addressing a press conference here, Mathew, who was accompanied by Superintendent of Police (City) Prasant Anand, said three other accomplices, who were involved and guarding outside of the residential complex at the time of incident, have been identified and a hunt was on to apprehend them.
Following the incident, Mathew said a police team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Kailash Karmali was formed to investigate and apprehend the culprits involved in the incident.
In course of investigation, he said Sagar Soni and his wife as well as Senapati were arrested from Adityapur.
Around 80 per cent of the gold, silver and diamond ornaments looted have been recovered along with Rs 10,000 cash, he said adding that a pistol and four live cartridges were also seized from Sagar.
