Panaji: With the construction of a 300m-long road through land belonging to Talaulim comunidade, close to the old Panaji municipal corporation's dumping site, sparking off a row, authorities held an inspection to examine a few issues.

The builder was served with a show cause notice in the past and the government found that prima facie the land on which it was constructing the road was comunidade land.

The builder produced permission documents dating to almost a decade ago of the freshly tarred 300m-long and 8m-wide road, based on which, permission was given for the project.

Revenue minister Rohan Khaunte called upon the office of the North Goa collector to conduct a comprehensive and detailed inquiry in the matter together with the forest department, TCP, administrator of comunidades and mamlatdar's office. tnn
