After his visit to poll-bound Himachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday arrived in Ahmedabad, Gujarat to attend the silver jubilee celebrations of Akshardham temple in Ghandinagar.
Gujarat is scheduled to go to polls on 9 and 14 December. With the Model Code of Conduct in place, the prime minister's visit would be looked at as another poll campaign.
On his previous Gujarat visits, the prime minister had unveiled a host of development projects for his home state.
Earlier in the day, Modi termed the Congress a "laughing club" in his election rally in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
"We all need to look at the Congress. We should appreciate them. Nothing is left for them and they have lost their hold from every part of the country," he said.
He further said that Congress must introspect as to why the people of this country are turning from it and its leaders.
"State after state, people across the nation have taken it upon themselves to eradicate the Congress which has put them through so much misery," he said.
