Pune: National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) will hold its 87th annual session and symposium on 'Basic research — its role in national development' from December 8 to 10 at Savitribai Phule Pune University.
Heads of almost all major science establishments in the country like ISRO, ICMR as well as industry experts will be present at the conference.
"A competition of working models based on teaching and research of basic sciences will be held to develop interest among young aspiring scientists. The best and second best exhibits will be awarded Rs5,000 and Rs3,000 respectively," said Neeraj Kumar, a representative of NASI from Allahabad.
About 400 students from local schools will also participate in the symposium. TNN
