New Delhi: Nine of the injured in the NTPC boiler blast in Uttar Pradesh are likely to be shifted to Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Safdarjung Hospital, said an official on Thursday.
"As directed by the Union Health Minister JP Nadda, all necessary arrangements are made at AIIMS trauma centre and Safdarjung trauma centre for the victims of the NTPC blast. About nine patients are likely to be shifted there," said a health ministry official.
According to the official, Nadda is in touch with the state authorities.
The death toll in the blast in NTPC's Unchahar unit in Rae Bareli rose to 30 on Thursday. The government has ordered a magisterial probe into the tragedy.
The massive explosion took place in a 500 MW unit in Unchahar town on the Lucknow-Allahabad Highway on Wednesday. Many were trapped when the boiler burst and a huge ball of dust rose, making the rescue operations difficult.
