10 TDP councillors resign

GUNTUR: As many as 10 TDP councillors of Macherla Municipal Council quit their posts on Wednesday night.During the Macherla Municipal Council meeting on Tuesday, the TDP councillors staged a protest against chairperson Nellore Managamma alleging that she was sanctioning funds only to the wards of YSRC councillors. 

They alleged that even though they have submitted proposals to take up development works in their wards, the chairperson has not sanctioned any funds. Macherla municipality vice-chairman Sk Shakirun and nine other councillors Sk Dariyavali, Tummalapalli Peda Anka Rao, Chetteti Srinivasa Rao, Majula Venkateswarlu, Vemula Venkata Kalyan, Kommu Santosh Kumar, Bonige Ramesh, Vaddemgunta Narasamma and Sk Karimun submitted their resignations to Telugu Desam Macherla constituency in-charge Kommareddy Chalama Reddy.
