Feathery eyebrows, topaz eyeballs, white back brushed hair — Akshay Kumar's first look from Shankar's upcoming film 2.0 has created a lot of buzz, especially since their grand audio launch last weekend.

It was also said that Akshay will be playing the role of Dr Richard, an antagonist in the film. However, in a recent report by Deccan Chronicle, a source close to the crew has asserted that Akshay is not playing a villainous role in the film at all.

“Akshay is not a villain in 2.0. The costume and prosthetics suggest he plays a ferocious character. And he does! But Akshay’s Dr Richard is fighting for the right causes. He struggles against forces that have plundered and devastated the earth,” said the source.

The source also added, that the character was never negative even when it was offered to Kamal Hasaan but it did have some rough edges. Now that S Shankar could rope in Akshay in the movie, all the rough edges were removed keeping his image in mind.

This action-packed movie starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in a supporting role is one of the most awaited movies of the coming year.

The film's release date is being discussed all over the industry currently and it is said since Republic Day has always proven to be lucky for Akshay, the movie might release on the same day in 2018. However, since Akshay's film with Balki has also announce the same release date, there is much speculation about 2.0 being postponed again. (It was initially supposed to release on Diwali 2017)

Team 2.0 can also be spotted promoting the flick in full swing. AR Rahman has scored the music of the film, and two tracks are already out.
