Two Army soldiers were killed and a CRPF jawan suffered injuries, during an encounter that broke out on Thursday between militants and security forces in Pulwama district of Kashmir, police said, as reported by news agency PTI.

The security forces gunned down a militant in the encounter at Samboora in Pulwama, officials said, according to PTI.

As the security forces were conducting searches, the militants opened fire, they said, adding that a gunbattle ensued as the forces retaliated. One body, believed to be that of a militant, could be seen lying on the ground from a distance, the officials said, adding that the identity of the person would be established once the security forces are able to take its custody.
