After repeated instances of ‘agents’ of private facilities and clinics luring patients from Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) by assuring to offer cheap and best treatment, authorities have issued advisories to curb the practice.
Notices warning patients of such people acting as middlemen have been pasted in several parts at CMCH. Stating that CMCH is offering all types of treatment in best manner, the advisory cautions patients about agents who might cheat them in the pretext of offering best treatment outside.
The advisory was issued after 35-year-old man from Pollachi was caught in act while allegedly attempting to canvas the family of a man admitted at CMCH following a road traffic accident on Friday last.
The arrested, Murugan aka John (35), allegedly attempted to canvas the family of accident victim Chandrasekar from Pollachi.
The man had allegedly lured the relatives by offering treatment at two private hospitals in Pollachi at cheaper rates.
He was held after confronted by a doctor.
CMCH authorities said that those coming across such agents in hospital premises can immediately inform the same to the office or at the concerned department.
