The Evo pack for the Ferrari FXX-K comes with aerodynamic upgrades that increase downforce to 830kg at its top speed.
Ferrari has unveiled a new Evo package for its FXX-K hypercar that makes the track-only model even more hardcore. The FXX-K Evo is available as a very limited run model and as an add-on pack for the exclusive hypercar.
The FXX-K Evo, which is based on the LaFerrari, sees improvements to the aerodynamic package and a reduction in overall weight. The more hardcore model is now capable of producing 830kg worth of downforce at full chat – an increase of 23 percent over the FXX and 75 percent over the standard LaFerrari. When travelling at 198kph, the improved model can generate 640kg of downforce, almost equivalent to that of a GT3 championship car.
The FXX-K Evo gets tweaked front and rear bumpers to improve airflow. The additional intake in front of the front wheels adds 10 percent more downforce compared to the standard FXX-K with further improvements are inspired by the brand’s GT efforts. It also possesses redesigned front brake air intakes. Another 30 percent of the added downforce is thanks to the vortex generators on the undertray.
The rear of the hardcore hypercar now gets a fixed rear wing that has developed to work in tandem with the active rear spoiler. While the active rear spoiler isn’t new, the software has been upgraded to provide maximum benefit. It also comes with a central wing that runs from the middle of the model’s rear along with a wing at each corner. The vortex generators are fitted on the central wing. The suspension has also been revised to deal with the increased downforce.
On the inside, the FXX-K Evo has been fitted with a new steering wheel and a slightly larger infotainment screen, which uses a new telemetry system.
The FXX-K Evo can only be used on track, like the FXX-K.
