One of the most scenic tourist initiative, the Narjunsagar-Srisailam cruise tourism on the river Krishna has commenced.

The Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation has launched the cruise that covers a distance of 110 km on the river that makes its way through the picturesque Nallamalla forest range.

While the cruise takes about 6 hours one way, the tourism department has packaged it in such away that the two-day trip begins from Hyderabad by road on Wednesdays ans Saturdays, packaging it with Srisailam temple visit.

The tourist package begins from Hyderabad by bus and reaches Nagarjunasagar. From there, tourists board the cruise and visit the Nagajunakonda Museum. Thereafter, during the journey to Srisailam, they are served food. After reaching Srisailam, they stay in the night at the tourism guest house. In the next morning, they have darshan at the Mallikarjunaswamy temple and then begin their journey back to Hyderabad.

The Hyderabad-Nagarjunsgar-Srisailam-Hyderabad, a road drive cum river cruise is covered by the tourism department. While adults are charged Rs 3,800, the children Rs 3000 for the all inclusive trip. There are also separate cruise only packages.

The cruise has been initiated with Nagarjunasagar receiving heavy inflows during October, facilitating the cruise trip. Tourists also get to explore the scenic beauty of Nallamalla forest range during the cruise and road journey.
