Union govt. has brought down economic growth: Narayanasamy

Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy on Tuesday made a veiled attack on Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi by stating that his government will overcome all obstacles.

Addressing party workers after garlanding the statue of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary, he said certain persons are working as agent of Bharatiya Janata Party.

“We will overcome all those people and work for the betterment of the Union Territory,” he said.

Slamming the Centre for bringing down economic growth, he said the country was passing through time tough times due to the “ill-conceived economic policies.”

Predicting victory for the Congress party in the upcoming Assembly polls in Gujarat, he said every section of people, including traders, are unhappy with the ruling BJP. There is a strong pro-Congress mood emerging in the country, he added.

He also paid glowing tributes to freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhai Patel on his birth anniversary.

Speaker V. Vaithilingam, Minister for Public Works A. Namassivayam, who is also the chief of Pradesh Congress Committee, Cabinet Ministers and party functionaries attended the function.
