Thieves strike 2 Borda flats

Margao: Unidentified culprits broke into two flats at Raghukul Apartments, Borda, on Tuesday, and made off with cash and valuables worth over Rs 5 lakh.


Police sources said the incident happened on Tuesday afternoon when the occupants were away. A ground floor flat owned by Shweta Mali and a first floor flat owned by Frenzy Dias were targeted.


Two gold chains, seven gold bangles and cash of Rs 30,000 were found to be robbed from Dias' flat, while Mali claimed her gold chain and other valuables, besides cash amounting to Rs 2,500, were stolen, police sources said.


The thieves gained entry by breaking open the front doors. Further investigations are under way under the guidance of PI Navlesh Dessai.
