PANAJI: All government posts will be filled within six months of the position being advertised and this will reduce anxiety among the youngsters vying for the government job, chief minister Manohar Parrikar said on Wednesday. He said that all government departments will have to provide a list of their annual recruitment requirements and after the state approves the posts, government departments will be allowed to advertise for the posts in one advertisement during the year only.
"I am going to issue an office memorandum. When posts are advertised for, we will see that those posts are cleared within six months. It does not look good to keep the youngsters hanging. When I was the defence minister, the army would clear all vacancies once a year by promoting, as vacancies are created. Government departments also know who is retiring, what vacancies will be created upto December of a year," said Parrikar.
He said that for 2018, government departments will have to submit their requirements for recruitment by December 2017, and for the year 2019, the departments will have to provide their requirement by January 2019.
"In the first three months, the department has to identify what are the vacancies available and likely to come up till December. All vacancies have to be advertised in one advertisement only, so, in one stroke, you will complete all requirements. That should reduce a lot of anxiety among people and reduce multiplicity," Parrikar said.
He said that some common exams will be conducted in case of posts which are common to many departments like clerical positions, to reduce burden on applicants. "Interviews have been done away with already except in case of specific posts," Parrikar said.
