The body of a 22-year-old BTech student, who allegedly committed suicide on Sunday, was found at his rented accommodation in Greater Noida’s Beta 2 on Tuesday morning.
The police have recovered a suicide note.
Vijendra Momjajam, a second-year civil engineering student at the Institute for Integrated Learning in Management (IILM) in Greater Noida, was a resident of Imphal. His family has been informed about his death.
“We found the suicide note in the room where his body was found. The note does not blame anyone for his death. He addresses his parents saying he could not become the good boy they wanted him to be,” said a senior officer.
Phone not reachable
Kasna police station SHO Jitender Kumar added, “Vijendra shared the flat with two friends, both of whom had gone home for Diwali. He had returned a few days back and was alone for the past three days.”
According to Vijendra’s friends, he did not show any signs of depression but they got worried as his phone was not reachable since Sunday evening.
“A friend went to his flat on Tuesday morning to check on him but failed to get any response. He informed the locals and the police, who broke open the door and found Vijendra hanging inside,” Mr. Kumar said, adding that the body has been sent for post-mortem.
While it appears to be a case of suicide, the police are probing all angles.
