2 ganja peddlers arrested

Coimbatore: Two ganja peddlers were arrested from separate places in the city on Tuesday. Police also seized 1.35kg ganja from the duo.


RS Puram (law&order) police sub-inspector Chellamani and team had apprehended 65-year-old K Lakshmanan of Mariamman Kovil Street at Ponkaliyur in Veerakeralam carrying 1.10kg of ganja for sales near a temple at Muthannan Kulam Junction on Thadagam Road on Tuesday evening. The contraband was seized and Lakshmanan was remanded in judicial custody. Further investigation is on.


In the second incident, Saravanampatti police sub-inspector Kathivelu and team arrested 27-year-old P Baby Rout of Sivanandapuram near Saravanampatti for possession of 250 grams of ganja for sales in front of CMS College at Chinnavedampatti on Tuesday. He was remanded in judicial custody.
