NEW DELHI: Domestic equity indices, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50, settled in the green on Wednesday on account of buying in frontline bluechip counters.

Both, Nifty50 and Sensex, hit fresh record highs of 10,451.65 and 33,651.52, respectively, today.

Markets adopted bullish stance after India improved its rank in World Bank's Ease of Doing Business list. India went up by 30 notches to 100 on the World Bank ranking, released on Tuesday.

The Nifty50 index closed Wednesday's session 105 points up at 10,440, while the BSE Sensex settled 387 points up at 33,600.

During the day, Dredging Corp (20 per cent), Weizmann Forex (20 per cent), Tirupati Forge (20 per cent), Laxmi Cotspin (19.75 per cent), Sujana Towers (19.57 per cent), Sujana Metal (19.35 per cent), STC India (19.24 per cent), Sakar Healthcare (18.98 per cent) and Sita Shree Food (18.92 per cent) zoomed up to 20 per cent on NSE on Wednesday.

As much as 139 stocks, including Bata India, Bharti Airtel, Dabur India, Delta Corp and Dewan Housing Finance Corporation hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE on Wednesday.

On the contrary, Gemini Communication, Hindustan Media Ventures, Stampede Capital, Supreme Tex Mart and TV Vision were among those 12 stocks that hit new 52-week lows on NSE.
