Karnataka’s chance to extend lead

CHENNAI: Going into their Ranji Trophy match against Maharashtra, Karnataka top Group A with 13 points, having won both matches so far.
Their opponents in Pune occupy fourth position following a win from two matches.In another Group A match, second-placed Railways (13 points) take on fifth-placed Hyderabad (2), who saw matches against Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh abandoned without a ball bowled.
Against third-placed Kerala in Group B, Jammu & Kashmir will have their task cut out in Thumba. Kerala have collected 12 points so far, and are eight points ahead of their opponents, who are placed sixth. Kerala began by beating Jharkhand, before losing to Gujarat, and scripting a turnaround against Rajasthan.
