Tottenham Hotspur are a good team. On their day, they can beat any side in the world. Real Madrid came into this match on the back of a defeat to Girona and were missing a number of key players including goalkeeper Keylor Navas. A defeat for Real was hence, not a far fetched possibility. But the European champions trailing 3-0 in the match was something that even the most ardent Spurs supporters would not have dared to expect before this match. Cristiano Ronaldo pulled one back after goals from Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen in what was a highly entertaining match. Tottenham were supposed to go through a tough time in this group that has Borussia Dortmund too apart from Real. Instead, they are now the first team to have reached the Round of 16 from this group. Go figure.
