ROUGH CUT - SUBTITLED (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Pope Francis on Wednesday (November 1) condemned recent deadly attacks in Somalia, Afghanistan and New York, saying militants were abusing the name of God to justify their violence. Marking All Saints Day with the Angelus prayer in the Vatican the pope said he was praying for the victims and their families. On All Souls Day on Thursday (November 2), Francis is due to travel to the city of Nettuno, south of Rome, to say Mass at the U.S. World War II cemetery on the day Christians around the world commemorate their dead. After that he is scheduled to stop at the Ardeatine Caves, on Rome's southern outskirts, site of a major World War II massacre of Italian civilians by German occupiers. Pope Francis has repeatedly condemned Islamist militants in recent years, saying followers of religions who carry out acts of fundamentalism or terrorism are profaning God's name.
