AHMEDABAD: Patidar Anamat Aandolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel on Wednesday held a meeting with NCP leaders Praful Patel and Jayant Patel alias Bosky fuelling speculation about his political plans+ .

The meeting is seen as Hardik's tactic to put pressure on Congress which had recently accepted four of his major demands+ but kept the one on OBC quota issue pending. The PAAS convener claimed that the meeting was focussed just on "exchanging formal greetings" but NCP sources said that they discussed cooperation in the coming Gujarat assembly polls.

"Praful Patel and Bosky met Hardik to convince him to extend support to their candidates. NCP is planning to field maximum candidates in this election and that too in the Patidar-dominated areas. However, Hardik did not give any assurance to them as he has been waiting for Congress to play its cards first," said sources.

When contacted, Hardik maintained that the meeting was apolitical. "They came to meet me just to convey Diwali greetings. We did not talk about any political issue or regarding the OBC quota," he said.

Bosky, however, gave a different version and said they discussed socio-political condition of Gujarat in the "informal meeting".
