A Lower Pottsgrove man who bragged to the man he shot about racking up a “body count” is on his way to state prison in connection with the Pottstown shooting that stemmed from a dispute about $40 worth of crack cocaine. Aykee Maleke “Sleepy” Scott, 22, of the 1400 block of Walnut Ridge Estates, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court on Tuesday to 3½ to seven years in state prison after he pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault and persons not to possess a firearm in connection with incidents that occurred over a three-day period in July 2016.

A group of women, sporting zombie costumes and make-up, performed the choreographed dance routine made famous in 1983. The song has become a Halloween staple with creepy sounds and a voice-over from famed horror actor Vincent Price.

A cardboard cutout of U.S. Rep. Pat Meehan, R-7 of Chadds Ford, was the prop of choice on Tuesday outside the representative’s Springfield office as members of Delco PA Indivisible asked whether the Republican-led tax reform bill would be treats for the richest Americans and tricks for everyone else. The local grassroots organization, which is focused on resisting unfair practices in politics, gathered a dozen or so individuals for a Tuesday afternoon protest to highlight points of concern with the GOP bill in the works.

With blocking an issue, Eagles trade for Pro Bowl running back Ajayi

The Eagles swung a trade Tuesday, just not for an offensive tackle or a linebacker as expected. This deal also adds drama to what has been a season without controversy. The Eagles shipped a fourth-round pick in the 2018 draft to the Dolphins for Pro Bowl running back Jay Ajayi, who rushed for 1,272 yards last year. Ajayi’s rugged style and shiftiness caught the attention of Eagles scouts during their training camp practices with the Dolphins. It was love at first sight for the 6-foot, 221-pound running back.

Hobbling Flyers defense gets another minor twist

Another day, another call for minor league help. The Flyers, young defensively when training camp broke, have actually gotten older on the blue line the past few days. That’s only because they’ve called up two career minor league defensemen to try to get them through an upcoming road trip. With Mark Alt already having played Monday night in an embarrassing 4-3 overtime loss to the Arizona Coyotes, the Flyers Tuesday recalled Will O’Neill, a 29-year-old veteran of six AHL seasons. He’ll likely serve as a seventh defenseman Wednesday night when the Flyers visit the Blackhawks in Chicago.

Dodgers beat Astros, 3-1, to push wonderful World Series to Game 7

Kenley Jansen blew a 94 mph pitch past Carlos Beltran to wrap up a six-out save Tuesday night, and Dodger Stadium roared with equal elements excitement and anticipation. This World Series is just too good to go anything less than seven games.

THEATER REVIEW: Nat ‘King’ Cole returns to stage with fire and grace through People’s Light latest production

Television is hurting, with viewership for the four major networks down an average of 8 percent in prime time. Some of that audience has been lost to cable and streaming. But that doesn’t fully explain such a decline. Could it be that people are turning off the TV and getting out to enjoy the art of live drama? Hopefully some viewers have been lost to live theater. But part of the networks’ dilemma may be a disconnect between reality and fantasy on TV not seen since the 1950’s when African-American entertainers first began to appear on national TV.

He brings The Security Project to Havana in New Hope on November 5th to celebrate the music of Peter Gabriel.
