3 of a family killed in accident, baby escapes unhurt

Three members of a family were killed after their motorcycle was hit by a vehicle here, while an eight-month-old boy miraculously escaped unhurt, the police said today.

The accident took place last night on the National Highway-52's bypass when the family was returning after attending a marriage in Bundi district's Shivpuri village, they said.


The deceased have been identified as Keer (25), his wife Seemabai (22) and his mother Panabai (45), all residents of Aarampura village, a police officer said.

"The eight-month-old baby, Swaraj, who was sitting on his mother Seemabai's lap, escaped unhurt," he said.

The officer said that Keer and his mother died on the spot, while Seemabai died while she was being taken to a hospital.

The bodies were handed over to their family members today after postmortem. The Hindoli police have registered a case against the driver of the unidentified vehicle, he said.
