Immigration employee booked for fraud

Police have booked an employee of a Phase 11 immigration firm for allegedly duping a Chandigarh resident on the pretext of getting him a government job. The accused is at large. According to sources, Natha Singh (32), a resident of Sector 39, Chandigarh, told the police that he had met with one Rohit through a friend around five months ago. In his complaint, he stated that his friend had told him that Rohit was working with an immigration company and he could help him in getting a government job in Punjab.

Natha alleged that he contacted Rohit for getting a job and gave him Rs 3.25 lakh. Natha Singh also told the police that Rohit promised him that if he could not get him a government job he would help him shift to Canada or USA.

The complaiant alleged that after taking the money, Rohit stopped taking his calls. Natha Singh said once he met Rohit in Phase 11 and asked him to return the money but the latter refused to do so, following which he approached the police and lodged a complaint with the SSP's office. A case was registered in this connection.
