Hero MotoCorp registers flat growth in Q2 profit; posts highest ever quarterly sales

Two-wheeler major Hero MotoCorp on Wednesday posted 0.62 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 1,010.49 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2017 against Rs 1,004.22 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
ET Now poll had predicted a profit at Rs 1,029 crore in the second quarter.
The company also recorded its highest-ever quarterly sales of 20,22,805 units during the quarter under review against 18,23,498 units in the same period last year. The figures showed 10.93 per cent rise on year-on-year basis.
Total income of the company came at Rs 8,479.59 crore in Q2FY18 over Rs 8,601.10 crore in Q2FY17.
“The all-time high sales in the quarter have translated into strong financial growth, reflecting the customers’ unwavering preference for our products and trust in the brand. This has also set a new benchmark in our bottom line,” said Pawan Munjal, Chairman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hero MotoCorp Ltd.
Shares of the company closed 0.82 per cent up at Rs 3,823 on Wednesday.
