Continuing with the indefinite sit-in-protest outside Civil Secretariat here for the eighth day today, the Liezietsu faction of Naga Peoples Front (NPF) Central Youth Wing has sought the intervention of the President to recall the Governor of Nagaland.
NPF Central Youth Wing has been protesting since October 23, with two days break on October 28 and 29, protesting against the delay of the Assembly Speaker Imtiwapang Aier in passing his ruling on three issues pertaining to appointments of NPF Chief Whip and recognition of NPF Legislature Party Leader and disqualification petition against 36 dissident NPF MLAs.
In a letter addressed to President, Ram Nath Kovind, which was submitted to the Nagaland Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar here today, NPF Central Youth Wing president V Nihoshe Swu and working president Bendangtoshi alleged that Governor P B Acharya had "unconstitutionally" dismissed Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu led NPF government on July 19 last and installed expelled NPF MLA TR Zeliangs government within few hours.
The NPF Youth Wing urged the Presidents office to immediately intervene and recall the Governor P B Acharya and also to take cognizance of the "biased" actions of the Assembly Speaker.
The letter to the President was read out during todays protest by NPF Central Youth Wing vice president Achamo Kikon.
