Panaji: The government has withdrawn the police escort allotted to urban development minister Francis D'Souza. Sources said he did not wish to have a police escort any longer.
The security facility had been assigned to him after he was appointed deputy chief minister under the previous BJP-led government.
D'Souza has been relegated to fourth position in the present cabinet after the BJP cobbled up a coalition along with the MGP and Goa Forward Party (GFP) in March.
The Mapusa MLA, who was out of station for about a month, is currently in Mumbai, a source said.
