Jain University claim overall trophy

Delhi University grabbed the second spot with 98 points while hosts Panjab University finished at the third spot with 89 points.

Jain University, Bengaluru emerged as the overall champions with a total of 103 points in the All India Inter-University Aquatics (Men and Women) Championship organised by Panjab University at the university swimming complex earlier this week. Delhi University grabbed the second spot with 98 points while hosts Panjab University finished at the third spot with 89 points.

In the diving event in the men’s team category, Panjab University claimed the gold medal while Goa University finished at the second spot. RGP, Bhopal and VTU, Belgaon were adjudged joint third. In the women’s category in the same event, Panjab University finished at the top spot while MUHS, Nasik grabbed the second spot. The third spot went to University of Calcutta.

In the men’s 200 M Individual medley race, T Emil Robin Singh of Manomaniam Sundarnar University claimed the gold medal with a timing of two minutes and 11.33 seconds while T Senthumanickavel of Manomaniam Sundarnar University finished at the second spot with a timing of two minutes and 14.83 seconds. Rakshit Shetty of Jain University grabbed the bronze medal with a timing of two minutes and 16.34 seconds.

In the women’s category in the same event, Meenakshi VKR of Jain University emerged as the champion with a timing of two minutes and 33.28 seconds. The second spot was claimed by Rutuja Udeshi of University of Mumbai with a timing of two minutes and 38.44 seconds while Chahat Arora of Panjab University claimed the bronze medal with a timing of two minutes and 45.44 seconds.
