Ludhiana man live-streams suicide on FB

The deceased was was identified as Rajwinder Singh, 32, a worker in a telecom company. He was unmarried. He hailed from a village in Payal division in Ludhiana but was living in a rented room in Ashok Nagar.

A MAN allegedly live-streamed his suicide on social networking site Facebook from his residence in Ashok Nagar of Ludhiana late evening on Monday. He hanged himself from a ceiling fan, sources said. The deceased was was identified as Rajwinder Singh, 32, a worker in a telecom company. He was unmarried. He hailed from a village in Payal division in Ludhiana but was living in a rented room in Ashok Nagar.

One of his friends on Facebook who saw the live streaming rushed to his residence but it was too late, sources said. A team of Salem Tabri police reached the spot and began a probe. The police checked his Facebook account. His friend told the police that Rajwinder was allegedly in an inebriated condition when he took the extreme step.

Inspector Amandeep Singh Brar, SHO, Salem Tabri police station, that on Monday night, Rajwinder Singh started live-streaming on his Facebook account, saying that he was ending his life by his own will and hanged himself from a ceiling fan. Harjit Singh told police that when he reached, the door of the room was locked from inside.

He broke open the lock and found him dead. His parents were informed. They told police that their son had been suffering from depression for the past few months.
