Finnish electronics company HMD Global, which develops and markets smartphones under the Nokia brand name has unveiled the Nokia 2 smartphones at a launch event in India.
The smartphone is priced at euro 99 and will go on sale starting mid-November. The Nokia 2 is the company’s first international announcement staged from India.
With the announcement of Nokia 2, HMD Global has marked the beginning of India-first devices.
The smartphone sports 5-inch LTPS HD screen protected with Gorilla Glass. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor coupled with 1 GB RAM and () internal storage, expandable via microSD card. The phone houses 8-megapixel camera on the back and 5 MP selfie camera. The 4G LTE phone runs Android Nougat out of the box and supports Google Assistant, an artificial assistant from Google.
The key feature of the smartphone is its 4,100 mAh battery, which the company promises is 2 days of battery life.
The phone will come in three colours -- copper black, clear black and clear white.
