The overall weekly air traffic to and from Cochin International Airport will increase from 1,314 movements in the current summer schedule to 1,422 aircraft movements in the winter schedule that commenced on Sunday.
Summer schedule 2017 had 333 international arrivals. The number has gone up to 340 with the winter schedule, says a statement from the Cochin International Airport. The number of international departures has gone up from 333 to 340. Domestic arrivals and domestic departures numbering 324 each will gone up to 371 each in the winter schedule.
International sector
In the international sector, the new airlines include Jazeera Airways, operating six flights in a week from and to Kuwait. The operations will start on November 23. Thai Lion Air will be operating a daily flight from and to Bangkok commencing November 16.
Additional flights
The additional flights include Air Asia Berhad operating an additional flight from and to Kuala Lumpur four times a week.
Indigo will be operating one additional daily flight in the sector Doha-Cochin-Doha commencing on December 15.
In the domestic sector, the additional flight operations include GoAir operating an additional flight in the Lucknow-Hyderabad-Kochi sector six times a week; Indigo will operate four additional daily flights in the Bengaluru-Kochi-Bengaluru sector; Hyderabad-Kochi-Hyderabad sector; Mumbai-Kochi-Mumbai sector and Delhi-Kochi-Delhi sector. Each will have one flight.
The total weekly movement of aircraft will be 711 each in arrivals and departures.
