SAMBALPUR: Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu emphasised on the need to include moral education in the syllabus for classes, ranging from Kindergarten (KG) to Post Graduate (PG) level. She shared this notion, while addressing participants of a seminar organised by Old Girls Association of Lady Lewis Girls High School, one of the oldest girls high schools of the region, as part of their platinum jubilee celebrations here on Sunday.
“We believe that we are civilised people living in the modern era. However, the morality of the human beings has degraded and we have reached the peak of materialistic life. The objective of human life should be to live in happiness and peace and not to earn money only. There is a dearth of happiness and peace in the modern era,” she observed. “While parents want to make their children successful professionals, they don’t think of turning them into good human beings,” she added.
Dubbing woman as the symbol of power, knowledge and non-violence, the Governor said woman can bring change in the society and they are capable to fight against social evils like female foeticide and dowry. Murmu also attended the 80th anniversary of Brahma Kumaris and Sashakt Bharat Navnirman Adhyatmik Mahotsav organised under the aegis of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalya, Sambalpur Sub-Zone at PHED Ground here. The Chief of Brahma Kumaris, 102-year-old, Rajyogini Dadi Janki Ji, graced the Mahotsav.
