UPL reports 43.63% YoY rise in Q2 net profit

Crop protection firm UPL Ltd on Monday posted a 43.63 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 237 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2017 against Rs 165 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. ET Now poll had predicted a net profit of Rs 380 crore in Q2FY18.

Total income of the company increased 2.83 per cent year-on-year (yoy) to Rs 3,846 crore during the quarter under review. It had posted total income of Rs 3740 crore in the same quarter last year.

Shares of the company were trading 1.78 per cent up at Rs 844.25 after the quarterly numbers.

Total expenditure of the company stood at Rs 3440 in Q2FY18 over Rs 3,444 in Q2FY17.
