Govt. hoodwinking farmers, unemployed youth and the weaker sections, says Laxman

Bharatiya Janata Party’s Telangana wing has chalked out an action programme to mobilise farmers and agitate on their behalf for more procurement centres for cotton, maize and paddy, besides ensuring minimum support price as well as bonus for their produce.

“Our leaders will be visiting the market yards at Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Jagityal and Sangareddy later this week as part of the ‘Rythu Bharosa Yatras’ to highlight the farmers plight, put pressure on the government to fulfil its promises and come to the rescue of the farmers hit by the unseasonal rains,” said party chief K. Laxman on Monday.

At a press conference in the State office, the BJP leader giving details of the resolutions passed in the two-day State working committee meetings held in Mancherial, charged the government of hoodwinking farmers, unemployed youth and the weaker sections with empty rhetoric. This will be exposed in the next couple of months by the party through its various contact programmes planned at district and mandal-levels, he said.

“The TRS government has cheated unemployed youth and the student community by not filling up vacant government jobs and not releasing data of vacancies in the last three years and the latest promise of filling up one lakh posts is only to mislead the Assembly again,” said Dr. Laxman and a ‘Chalo Assembly’ will be taken out on Nov.20 in association with the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha

(BJYM), he said.

Central leader Poonam Mahajan will be addressing a public meeting to highlight the unemployment issue, he said, while accusing the government of being mired in corruption with a scam in every scheme even as the liquor lobby is calling the shots. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is resorting to caste and communal vote bank politics. Protest demonstrations will be taken out in all districts to highlight these issues, he said.

Dr. Laxman maintained that the BJP is the alternative to TRS and remarked that a few persons joining the Congress does not change its future. It is a sinking ship, he said.

“Congress and TRS are twins of corruption,” he observed.
