NASA has put together a soundtrack of "howling planet and whistling helium" that could easily be the background score for a horror movie.
The literally unearthly tracks are result of scientists converting radio emissions captured by spacecraft instruments into sound waves, also called "data sonification". “Scientists sometimes translate radio signals into sound to better understand the signals,” explains NASA.
There are more than 20 tracks featuring roaring Jupiter, plasma waves, sounds of comet encounter among others. Sounds captured from the gigantic Jupiter and its moon can easily be called the scariest.
“NASA's Juno spacecraft has crossed the boundary of Jupiter's immense magnetic field. Juno's Waves instrument recorded the encounter with the bow shock over the course of about two hours on June 24, 2016,” said NASA in its website.
The track also captures the eeriest sound from Jupiter’s largest moon, Ganymede, through spacecraft Galileo’s Plasma Wave Experiment instrument.
