TDP Telangana unit's working president A Revant Reddy, who quit the party, today announced his decision to join the Congress.
"With your acceptance, (I) will join Congress, tomorrow, which has a history of 130 years and the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, who can provide leadership to 125 crore people," he said, speaking at meeting of his supporters held here.
The need of the hour is to put up a spirited fight against the rule of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, he said, flanked by Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Stressing that he is not against the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Revant Reddy, however, said the party should not end up helping Rao indirectly.
Revant Reddy resigned from TDP on Saturday last.
